In the old time, the estate used to be reputed for wild game. Conillières
comes from provençal “counihiero” which means rabbit
burrow. “Le conile” in Old French means rabbit too.
At the beginning, the main farm building dating back from the early
1700’s (right side on the photograph) used to be a hunting lodge,
later on it became a sheep fold. It is now our Bed and Breakfast and
shelters "Cigalo" and "Terre de Vignes". Our self
catering apartment "Garrigue" is situated in the extreme
right wing.
In 1843, Alexandre Cortez purchased the estate and built his family
house which is adjoining the farm building. (Left side on the photograph).
This house benefit today from all modern conveniences and shelters
our self catering accommodations “La Bastide and “ Le
Patio”.
Since that time the same family is glad to welcome you at Conillières.
